This experiment I come up with the perspective of things that appearing under the water or ice, The distortion of things through the ice. I will create layer by layer one at a time and keep freezing the slices of a chosen object. In this case it is a tomato.

While working, I’ve found this interesting form from the stage before the water turns solid as an ice. The texture is complex yet very dedicating.

I did it one by one layer, so this all can be a real time-consuming!

top view.

I noticed that the distortion that happened in the ice like this, it did not seem to be distorted as much as I thought it would be, compared to the distortion in the water.

Then I tried experimenting with another chosen object like grape. I also slided it into many thin layers and did the same process.

It was hard to see the grape from this view because it’s so tiny and the water was not so clear.

For this experiment, it might be nice to make some cocktail from this layering technique. Maybe add some colors but I thought the one that I experimented with the ice plate was more interesting. So I decided to go on with the ice plate one :-)
